Name of Committee:
The name of this committee shall be the Bargaining Committee.
Purpose of Committee:
The purpose of this committee shall be:
A. To survey members of the bargaining unit to determine priorities and items to be negotiated.
B. To draft an initial proposal.
C. To bargain a successor agreement.
Chairperson Responsibilities:
The Chairperson of this committee shall oversee all activities of the committee. The Chairperson shall:
A. Make sure surveys are distributed in a timely fashion, and received back from membership in a timely fashion.
B. Preside over all meetings of the committee.
C. The Chairperson shall report committee activities to the President on a regular basis.
Committee Responsibilities:
This committee shall complete all necessary research to put together an initial proposal, shall survey members, shall bargain at the table, and advocate for passage of a tentative agreement.
Membership:
This committee shall consist of 3-5 members, appointed by the President. At least one of the members shall be from the Bargaining Unit whose Negotiated Agreement is NOT being negotiated.
The President shall be an ex officio member of the committee.
Meeting Times:
This committee shall meet as necessary.
Deadlines:
The committee shall be appointed in February of the second to last year of the Agreement.
The first survey will be conducted in March of that year.
A second survey will be conducted in August-September of the last year of the Agreement.
An initial proposal shall be developed in October-January of the last year of the Agreement.
Deadlines for Inaugurations of Negotiations and the first Negotiations sessions will be according to the current negotiated agreements.
