LKNEA PACE Committee

Name of Committee:

            The name of this committee shall be the Political Action Committee for Education.

Purpose of Committee:

            The purpose of this committee shall be to engage in political activities at the local level to promote the viewpoints of LKNEA.

Chairperson Responsibilities:

            The Chairperson of this committee shall oversee all activities of the committee.   They shall recruit members of the committee.  The Chairperson shall report committee activities to the President on a regular basis.

Committee Responsibilities:

            This committee shall:

A.    Annually survey the candidates for the LKSD School Board.

B.     Receive copies of the LCS message from NEA-AK and act on them as required during the legislative session.

C.    Other assignments as directed by the Executive Board

Membership:

            This committee shall consist of a Chairperson and additional members, evenly divided among the 2 bargaining units.  Members shall be appointed by the President upon the recommendation of the Chairperson.  Members of NEA-AK PACE shall be members of this committee.

            The President shall be an ex officio member of the committee.

Meeting Times:

            This committee shall meet as necessary.
