Name of Committee:
The name of this committee shall be the Rights Committee.
Purpose of Committee:
The purpose of this committee shall be to enforce the Negotiated Agreements of LKNEA.
Chairperson Responsibilities:
The Chairperson of this committee shall oversee all activities of the committee. They shall recruit members of the committee. The Chairperson shall report committee activities to the President on a regular basis.
Committee Responsibilities:
This committee shall:
A. Handle all grievances filed against LKSD at Level 2 and beyond.
B. Recommend grievances to take to Arbitration.
C. Responsible for advising bargaining unit members on how to prepare and present grievances.
D. Help bargaining unit members work through differences with their supervisors.
Membership:
This committee shall consist of the Chairperson, and 3-5 members, appointed by the President upon the recommendation of the Chairperson.
The President shall be an ex officio member of the committee.
Meeting Times:
This committee shall meet as necessary.
Deadlines:
A. The committee shall make sure that all deadlines for filing grievances are met for each grievance brought forth by a member or the Association.
